All the items in the tent are truly "On Sale" for 75% to 90% off - plants, pottery, giftware, garden art, tools and more. A few years back I purchased wooden window boxes that were originally $75 each for $20 each. I also got a huge, beautiful wicker hanging basket for $3. Bargains, Bargains, Bargains!

Bayport Flower Houses has been in Bayport for over 75 years and is really a family run business. Even if you don't buy anything, they do not mind you wandering around their grounds and greenhouses to get inspiration.

Bring the kids too, they will have fun because Bayport Flowers is very kid friendly. On their grounds next to the Annual House, is a wooden playhouse that your kids love to play in. Your children will also enjoy looking at the flowers and throwing coins into their many fountains, to make a wish. The Flower Houses even hold classes for children called - Saturday for Super Kids.

All of the staff at Bayport Flowers are friendly and helpful. When you are there sign up for their newsletter , which is also online. In it are coupons, class schedules and all sort of other helpful tips. They accept their coupons if you print them from their online newsletter. Bayport Flower Houses is a beautiful place.

Back To School On July 3rd?

This is just a big pet peeve of mine. On July 3rd - less then a week from the last day of school I got an email from Costco for Back to School coupons. All I can say is AHHHHHH!!!! The Costco email was the first of many more Back to School ads, etc. Why can't they wait till August to start that stuff?

The Flower House Of Bayport

When I was little Bayport had greenhouses and flower shops all over town. This area was actually well known for their greenhouses. Most of them now are condos and a 7-11, but there are few that are still around. The biggest and oldest is Bayport Flower Houses.

Bayport Flower Houses is just a great place to wander around - it is huge. Beside plants, they have tons of other interesting goodies. The staff from the owners to the check out people are so nice and so knowledgeable and so helpful. They have a lot events here and you have to go at Christmas time. It is decorated beautifully and a great place to try to get a Christmas card photo of the kids. Every year they hold a tree lighting and have Santa available for photos - it's free and so much nicer then that mall Santa.

If you ever buy anything from Bayport Flower Houses make sure to give them your address because you will receive their newsletter in the mail. I just got mine yesterday. It is filled with all sorts of gardening tips - I am pretty much just above a black thumb in the gardening department. They also hold classes. The big plus with the newsletter is the coupons. These coupons are not the same ones they have in the local papers, they are different and better. The best coupon in the newsletter was 50% off any single item - limit of $100. That's a great coupon!

The Secrets Of CVS

A friend of mine that knows someone that works at CVS in Bayport, told me about this. Not sure if it is every CVS, but it works in the Bayport CVS - I did it. You know about the CVS Extra Care Card and when you check out, coupons print to be used at your next visit. I always have these $5 off coupons that I forget at home or they expire. You do not have to worry about that anymore because in the store are kiosks where you scan your CVS Extra Care Card and it prints coupons tailored to you before you check out, including $5 off. Wow!

In the Bayport CVS there is a kiosk right when you walk into the store. It is on the end cap of the makeup section. I know I must have walked by it 1,000's of time and never noticed it because it is labeled as a price check scanner. But just scan your CVS Extra Care Card and coupons pop out. There is another kiosk towards the back of the Bayport CVS on an end cap by the pharmacy. So do not worry about forgotten or expired coupons - print them when you get into CVS in Bayport.

Sweet Free Stuff!

November Sunflower has tons of info about saving money, coupons and free stuff on Long Island, but my favorite tip is this site.

I signed up with Sweet Free Stuff for their daily email. And once a day I get one email from them with hyper-links of free offers. I click on whatever offer looks good to me. The company that is offering the free sample will ask you for your name, mailing address and email. I do not mind giving this info out. Most of the sites say they do not sell your info to others. For my name - I give them my maiden name. I have a few email accounts, so I don't give them my main account. If any ask for a phone number - I give out my husband's business line.

Today I got my first free sample in the mail! Exciting!!! I have to say I have not gotten any extra spam emails or telemarketer calls either. When the free samples come they usually have coupons attached. Like the old saying says "If it's free - it's for me!"

Eggs And Milk On Sale

There were some great coupons for King Kullen in Newsday today. 99 cents for a dozen large eggs and 99 cent for a 1/2 gallon of milk with an additional purchase of $25. Valid 5/12 - 5/14. King Kullen is in The Bayport Bubble. Other stores are cheaper, but I always end up at King Kullen.

Whiskey Ed Says - Don't Drink The Water!

I have been signing up to receive emails from stores I usually shop at - even very local ones now have web sites. I go to Houdek's Spirit Shop since it is in the Bayport Bubble. I still call it Whiskey Ed's - what it was called when I was growing up - I think. There use to be a sign up front with a little boy peeing into a pond that said "Whiskey Ed says Don't Drink The Water".

The last time I was there, I noticed they had an email sign up at the register and I signed up. They emailed me a 10% off coupon. Then yesterday afternoon I checked my emails and there was one from Houdek's that said they were having a free wine tasting that day. Aunt Nette and Aunt Stevie said they would go with me. I needed to go anyways because of an Absolute Pear coupon I had. So we went and sampled some delicious wines from Osprey's Dominion in Peconic. Yum!
